Experience a Part of History With a WWII History Flight
The Commemorative Air Force Minnesota Wing is proud to offer you the opportunity to experience flying in one of our authentic World War II aircraft. We offer a flight in a wide selection of aircraft, based upon your interest and budget. No piloting experience is necessary!
All flights include a pre-flight briefing with one of our experienced, commercial-rated pilots. Many of our pilots also work for major airlines. You'll have the opportunity to ask questions about the aircraft and its operational history. History flights are conducted spring, summer and fall, but can be booked at any time. Winter flights are not conducted. Flights depart from South St. Paul Municipal Airport (Fleming Field), where our aircraft are based. We also offer flights at select airshow venues around the country.
By booking a flight, you're not only getting to experience flying in an authentic WWII aircraft, you’re also helping to preserve them! All proceeds go toward maintaining our aircraft. As a 501c3 non-profit, your flight is also tax deductible up to the maximum amount allowed by law.
We look forward to having you fly with us soon!

Requirements
While we never intend to, we reserve the right to cancel any flight at the Pilot-In-Command’s discretion.
These reasons include, but are not limited to:
- Weather conditions – We restrict the operation to Visual Flight Rules (VFR) conditions. If weather is a factor, you will be notified by email or phone depending on when your flight is.
- Maintenance – Unfortunately, sometimes things break, and we may need to delay, postpone, or cancel a flight until maintenance can fix a problem.
- Volunteer and aircraft schedules may change and we will do our best to notify you of those changes ahead of time. In the event of a schedule change, we will coordinate an alternative flight date with you.
- Seat requirements - Sometimes the minimum number of seats to economically operate the aircraft for a given flight aren’t sold. First, we’ll try to move you to another flight, but that may not always be possible. We do ask for your consideration if this occurs. We are a non-profit organization, and rely on sales and donations to operate each flight.
